The shell of a turtle is made up of 60 different bones all connected together. 

Galapagos tortoises may reach a length of over 4 ft (120 cm) and weigh over 500 lb (225 kg). - the giant tortoises. Tortoises generally have lifespans comparable with those of human beings, and some individuals are known to have lived longer than 150 years.
